Larry Dobbins was born in Bonham, TX on March 30, 1952. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Marie Jones (husband Travis), and his son, Travis Blane Dobbins, all of Asheville, NC. He is also survived by a very special aunt, Lee Landers, and her husband, Tony, of Duncanville, TX, and a brother, Eddie Reed, of Sulphur Springs, TX. Larry grew up in Texas, but later moved to California. He met his wife, Sheri, there and they moved back to Texas to start a family. They had two children, Jennifer, born in 1982, and Travis, born in 1989. The family moved to North Carolina in 1997, and then Larry and Sheri divorced. He then returned to Texas. Larry faced many problems over the years, including alcoholism and drug addiction. In May of 2009, Larry found God and entered into the recovery process. He was clean and sober until the time of his death. He devoted his life to Jesus Christ and repairing the relationships with his children. Sober living and recovery was very important to Larry. He attended the Fellowship Church of Fort Worth very often and was very proud of his AA and NA meetings and all of the friends he made while there. Larry's death has been devastating to his family, but they take comfort in knowing that he turned his life around and finally made it to heaven. Larry is my daddy and I miss and love him so very much. Rest in Peace, Dad. Love, Jennifer
